ME HAPPY!!!

I feel so much happy and excited and I'm proud of my blog. This world of blogs which was totally unfamiliar for me 2 months ago, is now, a part of my life. I joined here just a part of a blog contest conducted in my college. But it seems like, it was just a reason to enter this world. It just happened!! And it has to!! I don't know why, but I feel so! But you may wonder why am I happy now. Well, I haven't shared with you the reason for my happiness. Here, I won the contest and had been given the title as the "BEST BLOGGER OF GEC".. I have no words to express my happiness, really I don't know to tell you what I feel exactly now! I think  its a proof for what my blog description says. "Follow your dreams... Try to catch them no matter however high they are...".  I dreamed it and I achieved. So have your dreams, Don't forget to make them big and always think of making it real and one day, you actually make it to happen. Believe in God and believe in yourselves.. Go.. Get it!!

FUTURE OF ROBOTICS

MAN VS ROBOTS
We are really astonished by the various types of Robots available today. They serves varieties of purposes and became a part of life, atleast in developed countries. However, simple and complex Robotics systems had been installed in almost all sectors across the world. As a result, life has been made more convenient and many of the operations that requires human effort has been simplified with the help of Robotic systems. Robotics systems range from simple remote controllable toy cars or toy planes to multi-purposed humanoid Robots or automatically controlled aircrafts or high level military Robots. The world of Robotics is always interesting and amazing to us. More and more high definition Robots have been developed and introduced in all fields which differs in their performance speed, accuracy, intelligence level etc.. But all such systems helps in improving the respective fields and thus gets updated in their own way.
An interesting facts is that, many of the scientists are anxious about the next level Robotics. They fear that Robots, may get motivated to form a new group for themselves, and conquer the entire human race and become masters of our world. Eventhough this is an exaggurated fact, it is a matter of concern. Based on this concept of destruction of human race by Robots,  many films were released including 'Enthiran', 'Terminator', 'Robocop', 'I Robot' etc..
The next level or future of Robotics is unpredictable and quite mysterious to us. Sometimes, they may overpower humans with their artificial intelligence and highly sensible actions. They might get motivated to destroy human race and take over the action. To an extent, this is a fictitious fact. However, we don't need to worry about this matter for now, because this has no possibility to occur in the near future as stated by scientists. Anyhow, everyone agrees to the fact that Robots are very much useful in our day today life. Even, there is no substitute for Robots today. Thus, Robotics have evolved into an inevitable part of today's world.

SOME LATEST APPLICATIONS

Our discussions about Robotics can never be complete without mentioning about Mechatronics. In the word Mechatronics, 'Mecha' stands for Mechanical and 'Tronics' stands for Electronics. This deals with mechanical, Electronics and Computer Science Engineering fields. Robotics can only be considered as a part of Mechatronics. The main difference is that in Mechatronics, we provide inputs specifically each time. While in Robotics, they receive inputs by their own acquisition mechanisms. The branch of Mechatronics can be better described as automatic systems whereas Robotics can be treated as autonomous systems. Robotics is just a field of application of Mechatronics and this proves the significance of Mechatronics.

The most modern models of Robots finds their applications in almost all fields. In the fields of defense, the new models that are able to offer high levels of security together with performing other actions like bomb detection, defusing, spy works and destruction if required, are available today.  Nanorobots, used in molecular machines like Sensors, whose

components are closer to the microscopic scale of a nano meter. They finds varieties of applications like microsurgery, manufacturing, cleaning etc.. Industrial systems have developed latest models, with much higher levels of accuracy and better perfection.
                          Automatic Guided Vehicle Systems (AGVS)
for the purpose of guiding a simple or complex vehicle system, with their applications ranging from controlling a wheel chair to the controlling of heavy miliary purpose vehicles. New models of Robots were introduced and successfully installed in various fields like Education, Entertainment, Medicine and Healthcare, Research studies, Domestic uses, Rescue purposes and so on... Today, we also have separate Robotic operating system which can be used for navigation and control of Robots. It is a platform for working for Robots and can be used for providing commands to them, when installed.
Some of the latest models of Robots can be viewed with the help of the following links.

FEATURED ROBOT MODELS

                     SWARM ROBOTS

SWARM ROBOTS PULLING A CHILD                                   Have you ever seen a group of ants collectively performing a specific task like picking up granules of sugar and taking them into their storage places? They do so by forming small groups where every ant collects one or two granules and together collects relatively large quantities. In a similar way, Robots performs some complex tasks with the help of small, simpler Robots each performing simple tasks. They are called 'Swarm Robots". Each Robot is a member of the group and has its own dedicated purposes and altogether performs big, complex operations. Their attractive feature is that, even if any of the member Robot fails, the swarm can continue its action with the help of the available components. They exhibits a wonderful behavior called as 'Swarm Intelligence'. This concept was however developed by frequent observations of social insects like ants and bees and setting up a system that can mimic its behavior. Researches are still going on in this field, to explore more possibilities of Swarm Robotics.

  LINE FOLLOWER ROBOTS

                         A WALL FOLLOWER ROBOT PERFORMANCE
Line Follower Robots are robots that detects and follows a specific line or path drawn on a surface. The path is to be defined well and it should be highlighted on a surface with any contrast color relative to the color of the surface, or the path can be invisible like that of a magnetic field. This is made possible with the help of IR (Infra Red) Sensors installed inside the body of such Robots that helps in recognizing the lines. They are self operating mobile machines that can be used in various fields like military, defense, transportation, industries etc.. The Line follower Robots have upgraded much, and today we can also find wall follower Robots in common.

CYBER ORGANISMS

CYBORGS

Cybernetics Organisms, commonly known as Cyborgs, is in general, an organism with both artificial and natural systems. This concept was introduced by Manfred Clynes and Nathan Kline in 1960 in their article abut the "advantages of self-regulating human-machine systems in outer space". This was based on the idea of inserting certain natural features in a Robot system. This idea was made popular among the people all over the world after the famous movie "TERMINATOR" was released. Cyborgology is the branch of science that deals with development of cyborgs and thus forming a cyborg society!!.
For instance, many insects have found to be exhibiting amazing flight performance and highly understood nervous and muscular systems. Thus we can make use of this natural characteristics by implanting micro systems into insects to control their flight and they are controllable by some external factors. This has wide applications in the fields of defense, research purposes etc.. Many such Cyborgs exists today and researches are still going on in Cyborgology and more exciting models are awaited.

ROBOTICS TO THE NEXT LEVEL

The new members of the family of Robots have unveiled new possibilities in this branch of science which provides opportunities for making our life much more convenient. The conventional duties that were assigned to them have changed in all dimensions.
The older models upgraded in both hardware and software aspects as well as new models were evolved.  The explanations of their working and scientific backgrounds are beyond the scope of this blog. So, my intention is to make the readers familiarize some newer models of Robots by just introducing the Robots, its purpose and working in a precise model. As Robotics is developing and upgrading day by day in all aspects, it is a big task for me to include each and every fields. But it is possible to introduce some of them in a random fashion to make the readers know about the Robots of the latest kinds.
The new generation Robots has really conquered the minds of everyone and always a matter of interest for scientists. They serve varieties of purposes with more perfection than ever before. The limitations were frequently analyzed and timely changes were made in this sector. Thus Robotics is improving day by day in a faster rate and let us wait for more advanced models too.

ROBOTS- DESCRIPTION

Robots are electro-mechanical systems, that works either by itself with some programmed codes or electronic circuitry embedded in them or in accordance with some external remote controllable systems. A Robot differ from the available varieties of machines in such a way that, a robot usually mimic some human or animal characteristics and imitates their movements with the help of its artificial intelligence and most properly having their structure in resemblance to that of a living creature or any specific organ.  It performs tasks in a similar fashion as the actual creature do. This is the most crucial and striking feature of robots and this makes them unique from the other artificially manufactured machines.

Robots find applications in vast varieties of fields. From the exploration of minerals existing beneath  the earth to the study of satellites in the outer space, also from underwater research purposes to the rescue operations at the ice-covered, isolated Polar Regions, we make use of the Robots. They are helpful in various fields like defense, disaster management, entertainment, medicine and health care, mining, education and so on. They are also used in household domestic applications, performing some dull or boring tasks, repetitive operations, research studies, bomb detecting purposes, spy works, performing some complex tasks in factories etc... To list out all the associated areas where Robots has their role is almost impossible in the sense that they finds their applications in almost all phase of life in today's world.
 Robots can be categorized as:
  • Military Robots
  • Industrial Robots
  • Household domestic Robots
  • Entertainment Robots
  • Swarm Robots
  • Nano Robots
  • Mobile Robots
  • Re-configurable Robots
  • Research Robots
  • Modular Robots
  • Service Robots
  • Mining Robots etc..

They can be used in all walks of life, and they helps in making the complex tasks to be performed under dangerous or hazardous environments much simpler. With the help of Robots, we were able to transform our life into a more convenient one.

EVOLUTION!!

Even though everyone is familiar about Robots, no one can ever give a proper definition to the word “Robots”. The origin of this idea of ‘artificial humanoid machine’ is still unknown. It is a bit crazy fact that, the idea of developing some electronic machine that can replace many of the manual hazardous labors, definitely originated in the mind of a lazy guy!  It was developed for the sake of simplifying some complex tasks and to manage hazardous working environments.
Evidences shows that, the idea of robots originated in the period of ancient civilization itself. In ancient Greece, many of the scientists and philosophers including Archytas and Hero of Alexandria, introduced some discussions about controllable machines that can perform certain tasks and even invented some small automated machines. In the same period, similar kind of inventions and theories were becoming popular in ancient China and later on, in other places too. But all those were just some machines that could perform some simple dedicated tasks and they cannot be however, classified under the category of robots for what we define it today.
Later, in the renaissance period, more developed forms of machines were introduced that could perform certain hazardous tasks and the basic ideas of today’s ‘automated humanoid machine’ were developed then. But all of them didn’t result in any successful working models and remained as just theories and researches. In fact, some simpler models of remote controllable devices which can be termed as the predecessors of today’s robots were developed in this period. Even though they had resemblance to the present day robots, they had several drawbacks.
In the 17th and 18th centuries, there were wide discussions and researches based on robotics and many of the contemporary scientists put forward more automated machines including mechanical duck, artificial pigeon, and certain remotely controlled machines that had some resemblance to human beings.
We could definitely state that this branch of science strengthened in the 20th century. The first robot developed for the purpose of doing useful work, Televox, was introduced in 1926, by Westinghouse Electric Corporation. It was followed by a series of such simpler robots, all manufactured by the same company. Then, several such inventions were made worldwide in the same period for different purposes.
The first electronic automated robots were developed in 1940’s. The modern Robot, the digitally operating and program controllable one, ‘Unimate’ was developed by George Devol. It was later used for commercial purposes by installing it in an industrial plant in New Jersey. Devol took the patent for the first digitally operated robotic arm and it was later declared as the foundation of modern robotics industry. And later on, more and more new inventions were made in this field.  Still, researches are going on, in Robotics, to meet more challenging and complex requirements.

ROBOTICS - HISTORY

Robotics is undoubtedly the science of today’s era. Robotics can be defined as the branch of science that deals with robots, its working, automation and control. I think it can be best described as a new generation branch of science. This mention doesn't mean that this was developed in the present century. It points out to the current relevance of this branch of science.
ISAAC ASIMOV
While searching for the origin of the word “Robotics” we need to go back to the starting of 20th century, where the concept of robots and the word “Robotics” was first used in print by the famous writer Isaac Asimov in his science fiction, ‘Liar’. Even though, contradictions exists about the origin of this word, the better official confirmation according to Oxford dictionary states that it was first used by Isaac Asimov. Whatever be the fact, Isaac Asimov has made much contributions in this field of Robotics. He put forward the wonderful idea about how it looks like, if a piece of machine can do exactly the same thing that a human can do.
The concept of robots gets along with the idea of artificial intelligence. It’s an interesting fact that a controlled machine, which may or may not having resemblance to a human body or any of our organ, can thinks similar to that of a human being in its limited domain, acts according to it and performs actions that looks like  how a human can do the same. Thus, Robotics is always a field of amazement and wonder and an ever interested field for scientists.
